In celebration of Balsam Range Art of Music Festival, we here at The Smoky Mountain News and Boojum Brewing Company will also be hosting an event as part of the weeklong festivities. 

The inaugural "Bluegrass Boogie" will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at The Gem downstairs taproom at Boojum Brewing in downtown Waynesville. Popular Western North Carolina bluegrass/Americana act Ol' Dirty Bathtub will kick things off at 8 p.m. as the house band for the evening. 

Balsam Range mandolinist Darren Nicholson (whose band won the 2018 International Bluegrass Music Association "Entertainer of the Year" award) will also be appearing onstage that night, alongside other musician friends and special guests that will be dropping by for some picking'-n'-grinnin'.
